Hey guys, I was talking to Gambit earlier and it seems a few people haven't heard of Jens' weekly snapshots, what these are are basically weekly prereleases of the next update, now, usually the snapshot consist of minor bug fixes and small changes, but some updates like 12w03a are well worth looking into, here's the complete list of changes from the minecraft forums for the latest snapshot.
Ladders regained their collision box
Vines are climbable if you push into a solid block while next to them
Added jungle biome (requires a new world) with ferns and new wood and leaf types
Updated language files
Dispensers dispensing Spawn Eggs will place Mobs instead of simply dispensing the eggs
Spawn eggs are now stackable
Zombies have new path-finding AI
Wolves have new AI and can be bred with meat (when tamed)
Notable Bugs:
In the inventory screen, the player's head will face different directions depending on which way the player is facing in-game.
Zombies always spin on axis when unable to reach the player.
Jungle Biomes seem to put much more strain on the GL rendering engine, leading to out of memory errors.
Some leaves generated as part of Jungle Biomes will begin to decay immediately, as they are outside the required range of any wood needed.
If you want to download this snapshot or look at other snapshots released by Jens, check them out at the minecraft wiki, in the subbox titled 'play it' click on the current weekly server version link, and there ya go.
Sorry for the lack of a link, ask gambit for it, apparantly, I can't post external links for a week. Hope you go check this out, see ya on remnantdistrict.
I highly recommend previewing 12w03a, it's well worth it.
